<p>1. Always be alert of the background. You do not want to find a tree that grows out of people&#8217;s heads or a passing vehicle to draw attention away from your subject. Sometimes moving your subject just a few steps to the side can make all the difference.</p>
<p>2. Use the available light. If your digital camera has an option to turn the flash off and it was light enough outside to read a book and then use the available light and turn the flash off. In general camera flashes are too harsh for human skin and make us all look pale. In the room where there was not enough daylight, place your subject by a window and use fill flash feature.</p>
<p>3. The aim your camera slightly down at the faces of people. Also do not just shoot into someone&#8217;s face, try a slight to the side, three-quarter view, so you see more of their faces. Remember camera higher looking down and seeing the third quarter, will slim your subject.</p>
